2024 - ONLINE AUCTION OF A LIMITED EDITION OF GAVOX WATCHES

Mi-24 helicopters served in the Czechoslovak and Czech Air Forces for an incredible 45 years. This stage will be indelibly engraved in the souls of many flying generations.

Members of the 221 Tiger Helicopter Squadron from the Namesti base have had a limited edition of 45 unique watches made to symbolically remind their owners of this “devil’s chariot”.

Only one piece of this limited edition was destined for an online auction, the proceeds of which will go to the Military Solidarity Fund.

The watch was custom-made in 2022 by Belgian manufacturer GAVOX. It contains a Ronda electronic movement and the case diameter is 41 mm. The watch’s matte black finish with yellow detailing references the squadron’s membership of the NATO Tiger Squadron Association. The watch is unique in that it was flown on board the Mi-24/35 helicopter for exactly 22 hours and 10 minutes and was also present during the last live firing at the Ondřejov firing range in the Boletice training area.

The winning auction bid was in the amount of a respectable 50,000 CZK. We would like to thank all participants of the auction and especially the author of the winning bid.
